This universal kit converts old bed base control boxes with an easy-to-install 3 step process and includes a new wireless remote to control your head and foot motors: Head Up, Head Down, Foot up, and Foot Down. Used to replace a lost or broken remote when there are no more replacements available or in budget. This 2-Pack Kit will include one conversion box and two remotes programmed to that single box. If you have a split king bed or two separate bed bases, you would need to buy two separate conversion packs rather than this item or two of this item if you want two remotes per bed.
This kit includes all the wiring and harnesses needed to make your conversion and two remotes that can be used simultaneously! (Most put one on each nightstand for a spouse to use on a Full, Queen or one piece king bed or keep one as a backup in a drawer) Total installation should take no more than 5 minutes but it does require tipping the bed on its side. If you want to ensure that this model is compatible, look at your actuator motors under the bed and verify that they are 24V. (We have converted several bases without issue and almost all of the beds we have looked at that have been made after 2000 use the 24V voltage, but ultimately, we have not tested every bed on the market so cutting your wires is at your own discretion. You can however splice them back together if the conversion does not work so ultimately there is not a huge risk m…if your motors are built into your existing control box like an Okimat system this will not work.)
We send detailed instructions and even have started recording videos of us converting different models on our showroom to make this as easy as possible. You can view our first video here converting an old Termpurpedic Ergo Premier/Grande:
There are three steps to installing this unit. First, tip your bed on its side and unplug it from the wall. Second, cut the cords of the head and foot actuator motor and strip the forward and reverse wires (see our video). Third, slide each wire into its corresponding hole in our harness and click down the lever with your thumb. Then secure the boxes to your frame with our zip cables we provide, plug the new power cord in, and you’re good to go!
Kit Includes:
1) Conversion Control Box with Wire Harnesses and a 24 V 3A Power Supply Cable/Transformer Box with built in heat resistance, short circuit protection, and electromatic wave reduction. Simply click your 4 stripped wires into our four port receptacle and plug the new power cord to a surge protector and you will be up and running.
1) Two Wireless Remote Controls - We program these to the single control box prior to shipping so just plug in the kit after it’s installed and the remotes will both work. Each remote uses one included 23A 12V small battery. If you want to buy additional remotes (if you add another to your cart we will program all three together), we sell them for $30 more here:
if you are trying to use a new remote for a 2nd half of a king or a 2nd seperate bed base altogether, you’d would need to order the conversion kit instead. We also sell these remotes as separate items if you wanted to program more yourself down the road (we provide easy to follow instructions - just push a button in the box and push a button on the remote)
3) Large Zip Tie Cables to secure the new boxes under the bed
Recommended Items to have prior to install:
1) Wire Stripper or Pair of Scissors (we recommend a good but inexpensive pair of strippers as it will make the stripping process a lot easier and quicker. Here is a pair on Amazon that we bought for $6 and use in our instruction video): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06X9875Z7?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
1) Surge Protector. This can be a power strip or single box, but its important to make sure the words "Surge Protector" or some variant are on the unit. Usually you can buy both at walmart but the power strip without surge protection is a dollar or two less. Here is a combo strip/protector for $10 on Amazon that we love using: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08466BVJV?ref_=cm_sw_r_...
And finally, it’s important to note that one control box is required per bed. If you have a split king which is essentially two bases pushed up side-by-side, you would need two of these kits if you no longer have any working remote.
